The Retention Scholarship is a fund established to help retain EKU students that have completed their freshman year and have committed to returning to EKU in the fall of the next year. Data has shown that if a student returns and completes their second year of college, their likelihood of graduating is significantly greater. With this in mind and in an effort to encourage students to remain in school, a scholarship was established to provide awards to select students that meet the necessary criteria. We, as an Institution, care about the general welfare and needs to our students and want to recognize our student achievers.
Recipients: Degree-seeking students that entered EKU in either the summer or fall of the current year as a first-time freshman and are returning the fall of next year who have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average with a grade of C or better in all coursework.
Award: Individual awards range from $350 to $1,000 per academic year.
