Out-of-State Students

The information listed below is applicable to new freshman who are non-residents, enrolling at Eastern Kentucky University for the first time in the fall semester.  Merit scholarships are only offered to students being admitted to the fall semester.   We do not make scholarship offers to students who are starting in the spring or summer terms.  Students need to apply for admission to be considered for the scholarships listed below.  For more information regarding admission, please visit www.admissions.eku.edu.  Qualified students will receive a scholarship award letter and acceptance form upon admittance to the University.  Please note that if your residency changes to instate at any point in the future, your scholarship eligibility may change.  The scholarship acceptance form must be returned to the Scholarship Office by May 1st.  Students enrolled in a 100% online degree program are not eligible for merit scholarships.

If you are participating in the Academic Common Market program, you will not be eligible for merit scholarships since you are receiving a tuition waiver which is reducing the tuition cost to an instate level.

Please Note: After February 1, we will continue to make scholarship awards until the funds are exhausted. There will be no additional upgrades after March 1.
