Transfer Student Scholarships*

Colonel Plus

Recipients:  Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.75 or higher.

Award:  Three year award of $12,000.  Scholarship of $2,000 per semester ($4,000 annually) for up to 6 semesters.  In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.

Colonel

Recipients:  Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.50 to 3.74.

Award:  Three year award of $4,500.  Scholarship of $750 per semester ($1,500 annually) for up to 6 semesters.  In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.

Maroon Plus

Recipients:  Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.25 to 3.49.

Award:  Three year award of $3,000.  Scholarship of $500 per semester ($1,000 annually) for up to 6 semesters.  In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.

Maroon

Recipients:  Students transferring to EKU with 24 or more credit hours with a college GPA of 3.0 to 3.249.  If you are participating in a financial aid consortium between EKU and another institution, you must be enrolled in at least 6 hours at EKU.

Award:  Three year award of $1,500.  Scholarship of $250 per semester ($500 annually) for up to 6 semesters.  In order to retain the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and be enrolled full-time.


Students transferring from other accredited programs who reside in certain markets may qualify for additional assistance through the SMART program.  Visit SMART for additional information.

IMPORTANT Policies & Guidelines Information

- Transfer student scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those transfers earning at least 24 hours after high school graduation.   Awards are made based on the cumulative GPA at the time of admission to EKU. 

- Scholarship recipients are required to enroll and complete a minimum of 12 hours per semester while maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA. 

- Students enrolled in a 100% online degree program are not eligible for transfer scholarships.

- Students who have already earned a baccalaureate degree are not eligible for transfer scholarships.

- Per university policy transfer GPA from international transcripts are not recorded and thus cannot be the basis for awarding of transfer scholarships. 

- Students need to apply for admission to EKU to be considered for a scholarship. For more information regarding admission, please visit www.admissions.eku.edu.  

- EKU Admissions must receive (1) your Application for Admission and (2) copies of all Official Transcripts by these deadlines. Students must make transcript requests from previous institutions at least 2 weeks in advance of these deadlines. 

     April 15 for Summer Session
     June 15 for Fall Semester
     November 15 for Spring Semester

- Qualified students will receive a scholarship award letter and acceptance form upon admittance to the University.  The scholarship acceptance form must be returned to the Scholarship Office.
